Trunk Show Time!

December 18th, 2011

Trunk shows happen year round but the height of trunk show season for Erica Courtney is happening right now.  Tis’ the season to be jolly and buy, buy, buy!  Erica and her team travel to retailers across the US with her Drop Dead Gorgeous fine jewelry to fill their cases with her best pieces and newest designs. This is Erica’s favorite time of year because she gets to connect with her customers and see what they love, and her high-end customers love QVC too! We think it’s exciting and pretty notable that her big spenders are buying her couture line and adding QVC to their collections as well. Erica’s knack for creating mix and match pieces is taken to a new level.

Here’s a great example of mixing Erica’s high-end line with her QVC collection …can you tell which is which?

Winning Week and Red Velvet Cake!

December 1st, 2011

What an amazing week for me and my team! I’m thrilled to say that I was dually honored last week by two highly respectable organizations in the jewelry industry. First, by the 24K Club with the Excellence in Service award and then by AGTA for winning two Spectrum Awards: Platinum Honors in the Classical category and 2nd place in Bridal wear.

The Real Housewives Love Erica Courtney

October 21st, 2011

Since the Real Housewives have taken over Bravo and inserted themselves into every living room from LA to NY, we’ve seen a lot of bling! Every show and cast has two things in common; lavish lifestyles and they know what they like.  For the second season in a row, Erica was called upon by the leading ladies of Beverly Hills to douse them in Drop Dead Gorgeous jewels for some very important events and now she’s dressing a few from all the cities.

On Monday, Erica’s in house publicist/jewelry stylist, Kelly was at a shoot in LA to dress the Housewives in sparkling EC jewels. There was one from NY, Atlanta, OC, Jew Jersey and Beverly Hills. Never before had all these ladies been together and it was surprisingly calm. There was of course one slightly demanding blonde from NY but that was to be expected. Each of the ladies wore Erica’s jewelry and they rocked it!

A lot of people ask, “Why do you lend out so much jewelry, don’t you want to sell it?” The answer is, we do sell it and we also get a lot of great press. Eighty percent of the time when we lend out jewelry, we sell them other pieces as well. Since Erica does so much custom design work, she can easily figure out what to create for a particular lady by the different things they like and try on. From that, Erica will make them a new one-of-a-kind dream piece with sparkling diamonds and whatever other magical stone it may be.

One thing all of Erica’s fans love is to mix and match, especially the earrings. You can get multiple looks with just 2 pairs and then you’re hooked…there’s always a new dangle or drop right around the corner to add on and it makes it fun! This unique design element can be found in both her couture line and also with her Love, Erica line on QVC.  Love, Erica line on QVC

Whether you’ve known and loved Erica’s designs for years or have just discovered her on QVC, one thing is the same; her jewelry is adored by some of the biggest celebrities today and now everyone can experience the glamour that is, Erica Courtney.

DIAMOND – Birthstone of April

April 4th, 2011

April birthdays have the greatest birthstone of all.  The diamond is the ultimate gemstone with many strong features. It is well known that Diamond is the hardest substance found in nature.  Diamonds, a form of crystallized carbon, are believed to be created deep in the Earth’s surface from the intense pressure and heat.

It is thought that diamonds were first mined extensively in India and never cut or altered. Cutting techniques were not applied until the 1500s, when people began shaping diamonds into the cuts we all know today. Diamonds have been revered throughout history.  Used to embellish such items as crowns, swords and emblems as well as jewelry, they’ve even been part of national holidays.   Queen Victoria declared the celebration of her 50th year of reign a “Diamond Jubilee.”  Diamonds have also been credited for having certain medicinal properties.  During the middle ages, these gemstones were thought to heal illness, but only if the ailing person took the Diamond into bed to warm it up first!

In the present day, diamonds are still adored by jewelry lovers around the world. Diamonds often symbolize everlasting love. Majority of the time, engagement rings are set with a clear colorless diamond, but with the current colored gemstone trend, sometimes we will see an engagement ring with a treated or natural colored diamond instead.
